Large and multi-roomed stone-built pub with emphasis on food. Slightly more up-market than most of the other Sherborne pubs; beers from Hall & Woodhouse seemed ok.

Quite a good town pub (for Sherborne) - we usually kick off here when touring the town's pubs and have been known to stay for several pints as the ales are invariably in tip-top form. Warm welcome and good service. Food is reasonably priced and good pub grub although the menu is a bit pedestrian. Quite sedate during the day, mainly with dining tourists, but comes alive in the evenings with a completely different crowd. Well above average.

Another npleasant pub at the top end of town almost opposite the George, this pub appears to have been extended back from the original low ceiling front section. The pub was relatively quiet late on a Friday evening. It would appear to rely on diners. A good selection of Hall and Woodhouse ales were available and the ones we had were in good condition.

The White Hart is a quiet old town pub which does good food and good beer. The interior is relaxing, with a hint of Victorian elegance, a smidgen of modern comfort and a lot of ordinary pub atmosphere. The clientele is mixed and colourful. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a decent pint of Hoppy Hare but driving meant I couldn't try the other pump. Well worth a visit for lunch and a must for a Sherborne town crawl.

A Hall & Woodhouse (Badger) pub I have to admit I wasn't expecting much when I went in. However we had a very friendly welcome and our kids were made welcome too. Had a pint of the Hopping Hare which was excellent. We sat up in the restaurant bit due to our kids but the atmosphere around the bar was good with lots of people having Saturday lunch or a drink. Just shows, don't write a pub off from the outside!
