Blackthorn _ left this review about Dawkins Brewery Tap

One of several brewery taps in the vicinity, this one is tucked away behind an Iceland store just off Easton Road. It doesn’t appear to be a particularly big setup, and could well have been a garage or something like that in a former life, although the interior is more spacious than is suggested from outside. We visited as part of the East Bristol Brewery Trail, and although the tap room is open at other times, the range of beers and facilities that we found may be greater than is usually the case.

Internally it’s quite industrial as one would expect in a working brewery, with concrete screed on the floor, a corrugated iron roof and plenty of brewing equipment in evidence, including some rather attractive wood panelled tanks. There were two bars in operation, one for cask immediately opposite the entrance which had a number of barrels racked up on stillage behind the bar as well as a rather unusual mural on the wall behind, and another for keg in a room off to the side. This also housed a pool table, although this must surely be a temporary addition for the brewery trail, I suspect it would rather be in the way normally. Some attempt had been made to soften the décor somewhat, with canvas drapes on the ceiling and plenty of fairly lights strung around. The majority of the seating was picnic benches in the yard outside, with limited options internally.

Beers on the cask bar were all their own as would be expected, and on this occasion consisted of Bristol Blonde, Bristol Best, Bristol Gold, Easton IPA, Resolution IPA, Bob Chequers, Whiplash IPA, Ultra IPA, Mount Whitney APA, Foresters Black and East Bristol Session Porter. Disappointingly, despite producing their own cider, this was only available in bottles, not on tap.
