A relatively recent opening just off Stokes Croft, the name is slightly confusing implying that it is perhaps the garden for the nearby Crofter’s Rights. And in a way that’s just what it is, but is it a hundred yards or so from the main pub and operates quite independently. You don’t have to carry your pint across the main road to get here!

The garden here is obviously quite a feature, and a good size with plenty of covered picnic benches. The pub itself is slightly unusual looking, being clad in some sort of shiny corrugated iron. It’s a fair size internally with seating split across two floors. Décor wise it’s quite industrial, with concrete screed on the floor, walls painted either in white or dark green, fairly flimsy tables and chairs as well as a couple of large beer barrels for vertical drinking. The bar counter was at the rear, and unusually all the taps were affixed to the side of a beer barrel. There was also an open kitchen here with a pizza oven, and there were several of these coming out. Large, full height windows on two sides gave good views out in to the garden, whilst there was also further seating upstairs, although we did not investigate this.

Beers on tap were all keg rather than cask, and on this occasion consisted mostly of lagers, with just Arbor’s My Little Sabrony being described as a pale. One of the lagers was at least from the well regarded Bristol Beer Factory, with all other options being German, either lager, pils or a kellerbier.
