The interior is as described by Aqualung (pbuh), below. The former foyer was full of Midsomer’s less eloquent denizens, although the bar area was actually quite civilised and not at all unpleasant. The staff weren’t the brightest but not the worst. The beer was in good condition – Green Jack Lurcher Stout, Rev James, Otter Bright, Ruddles, Abbott and Doombar all on draft, plus 2 boxed ciders. If you have to come to Midsomer this is probably worth a visit, though it’s not somewhere I’d seek out especially.

It's hard to see how much of this new Spoons is the original cinema building. I suspect it's just the back room away from the main road which is where the bar is.
You enter from the High Street into a roughly square room with low furniture rammed in. I noticed the way through to the disabled toilet was inaccessible for a wheelchair due to the furniture being crammed in and a condiments cabinet. There were the usual brats being allowed to run riot by their ignorant parents. There is a wide staircase leading upstairs with a sign pointing to the garden.
Behind this room is the bar area which has largely tall furniture with booths to the left.
There are twelve hand pumps which had the IPA Trio Of Doom doubled but in day 7 of the Autumn beer festival there was just one festival ale. I noted a Dawkins Bristol Gold, Twisted Pirate & WTF and Twisted Oak Slippery Slope. I went for the festival ale Liberation IPA (£2.15) for which they wanted the money before serving (another point knocked off) and it was warm and quite unpleasant. Happily they had a festival cider and perry in the chill cabinet which were not only the same price as the festival ales but also eligible for the "free" drink with the steak club. The food was fine but they clearly have a problem with the cask ales here and if Cask Marque turned up they would probably throw a right wobbler.
As it stands I can't give it more than a rather pathetic 4.
