Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hotel du Vin & Bistro
Very imposing old hotel (frequented by Victoria before her accession to the throne, according to the plaque by the front portico). Smart comfortable seating in the bar (which also has a separate entrance), restrained dark decor and table service - all very civilised and Royal Tunbridge Wells! Prices to match, of course, with no draught beer and bottles at super-premium prices. Having said that, the tasty bowls of olives and spicy mixed nibbles produced with my Sandhurst (Rother Valley) Tradition (£6.00) helped soften the blow (very, very slightly...).
