Rambling pub in old brewery buildings with various different rooms, levels and staircases, all nicefully done up with lots of aged character. There was a slight feel of hostility to outsiders from the locals, but might have just been unlucky. The OBB is no longer on handpull but is allegedly on electric pump. It was not in the best condition at any rate.

This is an old brewery building that Sam Smiths used as a depot before converting to a pub. It's a rambling place with areas on different levels. There is still a working brewery here that brews fruit beers for Sam Smiths.
The bar is up some steps and had Samuel Smith Old Brewery Bitter along with all the keg products from that brewery.
I went for the OBB which was very cold indeed, something that normally doesn't bother me in the summer. The fact it was only £1.90 a pint made up for all the deficiencies.
It's not a bad place this if you can tolerate OBB or the Sam Smiths kegs and bottles.

Beautiful, unique building, with its own brewery on-site! Lovely atmosphere and very good beers to match. Decor is comfortable, yet traditional with gorgeous wall hangings and a top floor room with comfy sofas. Lovely welcome from the new landlords will have me going back time and again.
