Steve C left this review about Mrs Fitzherbert's

With the name Mrs Fitzherbert’s and the Guinness sign on the frontage I expected this place to be an Irish bar complete with the horse racing channel and some drunken old soaks slumped at the bar. Silly me! This is Brighton so the pub was populated with a few extrovert students that looked like they were in fancy dress, but I suspect that they were wearing their going out clothes. I didn’t see any TVs, but it was quite dimly lit as the only source of light was coming from some white and blue fairy lights that are pinned to the ceiling. The likes of David Bowie were playing in the background and free live music is advertised from Monday until Thursday every week. The bar is on the left hand wall and it supports three hand pumps that were drawing Harvey’s Best, Summer Lightening and Landlord. There is also a standard draught selection and I saw the clips for three cask ciders, but I didn’t see the pumps which must be hidden away. Food is served daily from noon until 14:00 except on Sundays when the roasts are available until 16:00. There is some seating out the front that merges into the outside seating of the Mash Tun next door. There is also an upstairs area that I didn’t visit, but I did glean that it is for hire. This isn’t the biggest place so it wouldn’t take many people to make it uncomfortably busy, but it was very pleasant when I visited on Tuesday evening.

I thought it was very relaxed in here and I would have no problem returning.
