Another brilliant Tudor looking detached Thwaites pub/restaurant, long and narrow, in white painted stone and brick, with patio area.

The interior had three rooms. Walking in from the car-park, there was a little bar room, where we ended up sitting. This is in white, with beams and had brass ephemera, plates and a crimson painted brick fireplace. 60's music played - i listened. Moving through the pub, the second room, also in white, with support and ceiling beams, had prints on the walls and more plates and general ephemera and a few games lay around, such as chess and dominoes. The third room is the dining room, which is L-shaped around the end of the bar, which serves all three rooms. There is a waiting area, with a sofa screened off a little from the diners by a brick fireplace with a stove in it. The dining area is in white and wood panel, with lainate floor and candled tables - I didnt eat, but could happily bring Mrs Soup here, food is an average of £12 and there is also a bar menu. Service was fine and all clientele were dining apart from me.

Beer; tap stuff, with Thwaites Original and a very good Wainwright.

A really nice place to visit, and i am sure i will be back and hopefully, to eat as well.

Ancient village pub. Under new management. Choice of well-kept real ales. Food looks good.
