Quinno _ left this review about Y Branwen Hotel
Literally a flying visit as my group had spent too long pottering around the castle, which is situated atop the hill behind Y Branwen and were close to missing the train. Three real ales - two Purple Moose and Doom Bar. My Moose was good and the Doom Bar was also reported as good in the 360-odd seconds it took to down our halves. Initial impressions were of a well-kept and well-run hotel bar and diner, with a modern but cosy interior. We were the only customers in there but it was two in the afternoon, off-season.
If you are in Harlech for the Castle, make sure you leave 20 minutes to decamp here afterwards.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Y Branwen Hotel
Looks like a gastropub from the outside, but it has a deservedly popular bar as well as a restaurant. Four real ales on, including the excellent local Glaslyn Ale from the Bragdy Mws Piws (Purple Moose Brewery). Recommend stop for anybody visiting Harlech Castle.
