A detached cream rendered pub and eatery, with patio area. The pub looks like it occupies three former separate buildings - one of which i assume was a smith's forge!

The interior is an open plan room and is modern in its outlook. The decor is red and cream with a dark carpet, but the serving bar and the tables are in pine. Comfy chairs, high stools and sofas are the seating along with the foody tables and a stairway takes you to the bogs. Interest is supplied by bistro-style art and vases, yes, some with twigs in them. There was only one of a few TVs on, and that was behind the bar, showing some daytime stuff. They do food here, but i didn't eat, so can't comment on that. There was general music at a decent level. The service was fine and the clientele small.

Beer; tap stuff with Pedigree and Courage Directors on handpull, the Directors being fine enough.

Ironically, despite the modern interior not being to my personal taste, it is different to the other pubs in Eccleshall, which are more traditional, so it does offer a choice of decor. It has the least interesting real ale selection.

fine old pub but with a modern feel, well kept beer especially the lager friendly staff and customers, also serves italian food...
