The Spread Eagle has various seating areas, some raised and some not. The bar in the left rear corner of the main lounge room has a bank of three handpumps on each of its three side. Holts Bitter and Two Hoots were available alongside Bootleg Brewery’s Chorlton Pale ale. The usual Holts Keg was also available, as was the food menu. However the kitchen was closed when I visited just after 18:00 on a recent midweek evening. In the left of the pub is a drawing type room and the bar serves a pool and dart room to the far left. Televisions are located throughout and a couple of them face out through the front windows so they’re viewable from the seating on the veranda out front. Champions League football was being aired via BT Sports. I thought this was a decent enough place that I’d pop back into if passing.

A large 2 roomed Joseph Holts pub. The larger lounge area is a pleasant place though a little ragged. Leather armchairs are dotted around of which a couple could do with little repair work. A pool table is to the right in a raised area. The smaller bar is fairly basic with a tiled floor. The servery serves both areas. 3 banks of 2 handpumps on the bar served Bombardier and Chorlton Pale. A pleasant place for an afternoon drink.

The Spread Eagle is a very large pub that was opened by Joseph Holts brewery in the mid 90s.
Once inside the pub had been fitted out very nicely with carpets and comfortable bench seating making this a nice pub to sit and relax in.
As this is a Holts tied house there were two of their real ales on the bar i had a drink of Holts bitter which was a really nice drink the other beer was Holts mild.
I quite liked this pub.
