A very standard family chain pub in the heart of sherwood . This place attracts a lot of the local riff raff that make for a rather unpleasant atmosphere on some evenings. The pub offers the usual microwave no thrills cheap (but by no means cheerfull) pub grub. They have several cask ales on but sometimes only one of a total of five pumps will be in operation. These usually comprise of the standard dire Greene king range (speckled hen, Greene king in etc) but the odd Nottingham brewery ale can be found and is kept fairly well, my last visit saw Timothy Taylors landlord and Camerons Gold Bullion on offer but this amount of variety is somewhat of a rarity. On the plus side being a hungry horse pub the prices are very reasonable and I must admit to having one of the freshest pints of Guinness I have had in a long time outside of Ireland at a very reasonable £3.10 per pint. An ok pub to nip in for a swift beer and sport but people looking for atmosphere, nice food, good ale or a hassle free night out surrounded by nice people are advise to avoid and seek out other places.

The Sherwood Manor is a large pub that is situated up the hill from the middle of Sherwood on the corner of mansfield road and edwards lane.
I have been in this pub several times,on my first visit it was a Whitbread Beefeater pub then Kimberley brewery took it over and it is now a Greene King Hungry Horse branded pub.
Once inside there is a large L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is carpeted throughout and had mainly normal tables and chairs, there was a pool table to the rear and there were leather settees and tall tables and chairs in this area.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which was fairly cheap at £2.60 a pint, this drink was ok,the other beer was GK Abbot.
The pub was fairly busy on my Tuesday afternoon visit with most people drinking,i was surprised that this place had more of a pub atmosphere to it than i thought it would have.
