E TA left this review about Corner Pin

A large corner pub overlooking the old market place, providing a large L-shaped bar. One arm is raised and carpeted and represnts a saloon area, with comfortable seating and tables. There is a tv at this end. The other end is the public bar, which is less comfortable. There are gas fires at both ends, and overall the décor is of the 1970s estate house genre. The staff are friendly enough, the locals a mixed bag. There is no real ale on – the best they could manage was Theakstone's Best which was poorly kept, much too cold and creamed out with an excess of CO2. Apart from providing a comfortable place to sit there is little to attract me back, but it's a good enough local boozer and it's a pleasure to see these surviving nowadays. OK, to be fair, I would drop in for a pint if passing.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Famous Corner Pin

This pub was originally called the Cross and it was a Shipstones tied house it was then done up and renamed Bobbins, the pub was always known as the Corner Pin and that is the present name and the pub still has the same layout now as it did when it was ruined in the early 80s.
Once inside here the bar is to the right and there is a raised area to the front left of the pub, this pub has'nt sold any real ale for years with the only bitter being John Smiths smooth and other keg products.
The pub sometimes opens early for shoppers to have hot drinks,it has been up for let for quite a while now but there have been no takers.
