The Waggon & Horses is a U-shaped pub with a central L-shaped bar counter that faces a carpeted red banquette front seating area with dartboard to the front and more banquettes that run under the windows along the left wall. Beyond these banquettes a couple of steps lead down to a long seating area with a pool table at the far end. A second shorter sunken seating area with a second pool table is found to the right rear. Flagstones are found around the bar area and the sunken areas have wooden floors. Some background music was supplied by the jukebox. The service was polite from the woman running the bar. The two hand pumps were badged with Bass and Sharp’s Sea Fury, but they were both off. This left standard keg and Madri as the draught options. Cash only. I suppose this place is OK as a local, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

A corner pub that is in a mock-Elizabethan style which is in undressed brick and stone windowed lower half and a white rendered and black beam upper.

The interior is effectively an open plan U-shape around the central serving bar. The decor is brown and cream split wall with white ceiling. There is a dart board and one end of the room, down a step, has a pool table on a wood floor. At the other end there seems to be an area where the disco/karaoke operates, though this was in darkness when i visited. There are pictures of film stars on the walls and a large pull down screen TV is available (not on at my visit) There is a brick fireplace and a mix of carpet and stone-flagged floor in the remaining area. The service was fine, the clientele consisted of one other bloke - but too be honest, Stafford is deserted on a Sunday night. Music was mix and supplied via a radio channel.

Beer; tap stuff with Banks's MILD and Slaters Top Totty (just gone) and a decent Slaters Why Not on handpull.

A couple of handpulls and a pub that is a mix of both modern and traditional. I would definately pop back in here for one. Nice to see it back open.
