The Crown is a Greene King run pub with two separate bars. In the left hand side is seating around the walls and a couple of speakers that were emitting the sounds of a radio station complete with adverts. Thankfully the volume was such that it did not intrude a great deal. On the bar were a couple of unused hand pumps and some standard keg fonts. The right hand side was where the only other customer was located during my recent Thursday afternoon visit. This bar was stocked with the same keg choices, but there were six operational hand pumps. These were drawing GK IPA, Belhaven Golden Bay and Abbot alongside Red Squirrel’s Hopfest and Conservation as well as Bishop Nick’s Heresy. Stools can be found at the bar and a couple of old barrels have been made over to act as high tables. At the rear were some speakers and music equipment that I took as an indication that live music is held here. To the right is a small kitchen with a separate seating area opposite and beyond are the toilets.

Food is available from midday until 14:30 and I spotted a couple of burgers and chips that emerged from the kitchen. They looked pretty good and I wouldn’t have thought that they were very expensive.

I found the barman to be very friendly and helpful. I liked it in here and would return if in the area again.

This pub is one of the friendliest in Harlow. Located in Old Harlow and with a more mature crowd, The pub is a great place for a quiet drink and chat. With Great food and Fri & Sat entertainment this pub is a great night out
