Single room Belhaven house (the unusual name is that of a type of Scottish pewter drinking vessel) which has what looks like an attractive old Taylor Walker frontage. Straightforward but homely inside with a traditional décor, some orb lights and pub carpet. Bustling with punters and there was a good atmosphere. GBG listed, there were five cask which I thought might be two too many but there were no complaints about the quality of my Greene King Dark Tide (NBSS 3.5) or the Stewart Ka Pai (3.5); I also recall the missus who went up to order saying that we got a prompted CAMRA discount. Worth getting the train over to sample.

Gorgeous little pub tucked away by the cathedral, with excellent traditional fittings and furnishings and a great range of beers. Only had time for a brief visit but will certainly return. Good Beer Guide and Cask Marque listings at time of visit.

The pub has come out on top as Winner of the CAMRA Forth Valley Pub of the Year 2013. This is the 3rd time the pub has been a winner having previously won in 2007 & 2010.
