Graham Coombs left this review about The Shakey

Despite the prominent 'cask ales' signage, there are none. Then again, despite the prominent 'Greene King' signage, there is none of that either. That apart, it is not a bad little locals' boozer, for those that like cheap John Smiths and Carling at least. Wood panelled, bare floor, some leather benches in the corner and a small outdoor area at the back, mainly for smokers.

Bucking Fastard left this review about The Shakey

A small Victorian frontage with a central front door, but an interior that has been modernised leaving few original features. The inside is open plan with a bar along part of the left hand wall and a raised area to the right of the front door. The pub has been extended towards the rear. The three flat screen give a sports bar atmosphere, and given it's closeness to Sheff Wed FC,this is a popular spot for Owls fans pre match.
Three handpumps which on my trip served GK IPA and Olde Trip with a guest in the shape of Wadsworth's Bishops Tipple served through a tight sparkler, which I am sure the brewer didn't intend. It wasn't in great nick but not expensive either.
OK for a pre match beer but little of interest for me to make a return visit, with so many outstanding real ale venues not that far away.

Alan Winfield left this review about Shakespeare Hotel

This pub used to be called the Shakespear and was a Whitbread tied house.
The pub has been renamed The Shakey, the pub is in the middle of hillsborough and next to the shopping centre the pub had GK beers on but none of these were real ales.
