Fantastic hide away very traditional pub, front bar and lounge at back, all with real fires and that comfortable style seating meaning its hard to leave. Sadly, the Bombardier is now up to a hefty £1.80 a pint...there had been complaints apparently.
Not to be missed. Lovely, homely friendly unspoilt pub

We stayed in a cottage in Staithes for a weekend. The three remaining pubs in the village didn't really float our boat, but the Fox & Hounds, just across the main road in nearby Dalehouse was a lovely pub. There's an open fire in the front bar - we didn't see anyone use the lounge at the back or the dining room to the left. Staff and customers were friendly and this felt like a pub that is well used by locals, but is welcoming to strangers.
The big surprise was the sole real ale: Bombardier, in really excellent condition, served with a tight, creamy head and an absolute steal at £1.60 per pint. Yes, per pint! And judging by the state of the hand-written price tag on the hand pump, this is the regular price, not a special. You can bet we'll be back.

Visited 14th September 2013 after a day out in Staithes. Friendly old fashioned country pub as the name implies.Open fire, good food and friendly staff. Will be going again. Small car park.
