Old stone built pub with a modernised but relatively standard interior. Sort of four rooms in a vaguely open plan cross configuration. The counter is front right with its forest of keg founts , I didn’t spot anything unusual so nothing to see here. Behind, rear right is a pool table with a seating area next to it on the left and the final quadrant is further seating. Screens and traditional furniture in all areas and bits of drinking shelves here and there for vertical drinking while watching the screens. There’s also a kitchen with a hatch into the bar but I didn’t see a food offer. It’s fairly easy to see what’s been lost through “improvement” here, four rooms with fireplaces would be nicer, a stained glass swan remains as mute testament to a lost past.

The White Swan is a stone built pub that is situated on Idle's main street.
Once inside there is an L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is carpeted and the seating is comfy bench type and small stools, the rear right area is up a few steps, there is a pool table here.
There was one real ale on the bar which was Tetley Cask, this was a decent drink.
The pub was quite busy on my late Saturday afternoon visit, background music was playing.
This is a decent enough pub to have a couple of drinks in.
