Of indeterminate age, and even the information panel inside can't be definitive as to when it was built, but 1970 seems to be the consensus (although it could easily be 40 years earlier). Anyway, these days, it is a well-presented Ember Inn so naturally food-led but still very much a local pub for the immediate vicinity. Although anonymous in terms of the semi-modern furniture and decor, it does have a good atmosphere with conversation triumphing over the near-silent musak and a couple of sports TVs. Four real ales were available from the six handpumps: Ember Pale (£3.20, and well kept), Landlord, Wainwright and Tribute.

Yes, the Queslett is a chain pub. Yes, the interior is a clone of all the others in the chain. BUT, it is just the right size, just busy enough, the staff are really efficient and friendly and happy to let you sample a beer at the mere mention of a brew you are not actually buying, I have never had a bad pint in there after three years of frequenting the place, and I can always find a quiet corner to sup and read the paper. This is a very good pub, if you can get over the 'chaininess' of the place.

A huge corner pub, a 60s looking 'big house', with extension and a patio area. It is a part of the Ember Inns chain.

The interior is exactly the same as all the other Embers, open plan in salmony, french mustardy colours, with arty pictures, sculptures, twigs, mirrors, champers display cabinet, easy chairs and sofas, with tables and chairs for the foody bits. Therefore, yes, i hate the interior. What makes this place better than the others i have given my opinion on is that the service was better, as was the beer. The music was subdues and the clientele mixed and it was pretty crowded.

Beer; tap stuff, with a decent M&B MILD, with untried Brew XI, Pedigree and Sheppy Neame Rudolph's Reward on handpull, along with a decent Downton Brewery's Winter Solstice.

I have visited this place a few times as its a useful meeting place. I stay for one only as the interior is anathma - but the beer has always been decent.
