Delboy 20 left this review about The Norton

The Norton is in a strange place. Right by the station but near nothing else! Only Abbotts available which was OK. Handy for the train is the best I can say!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Norton

Somewhat hidden away in the industrial estate by the station, but quite a decent looking pub both inside and out. Remodelled inside at some stage to leave a 'L'-shaped bar and a separate dining room off to one side. Semi-modern furniture and decor, with quite an attractive little beer garden that you pass through to reach the entrance. Unfortunately, things go downhill from there, with just Abbot (£3.40, and very indifferent) available from the three handpumps.

Soup Dragon left this review about The Norton Arms

This is a detached pub with patio area. It is Victorian, and called the Railway Inn until it became the Norton by 1924. It served the Forge Corn Mill and the Forge Mill station. It is a light rendered, two storey, elongated cottage styled pub. The interior has a single open room on split levels, with the serving bar at one end. The décor is green wood panel, white, blue and patterned wallpaper, with a predominantly wood floor and some patterned banquette seating. There is a pool table. They do food, but I didn't eat. The walls are bare, with no real pictures. The TVs had general programmes on and the music was general and at a decent level - although we had to move as a DJ was turning-up. The service was fine and there were a few locals in. Beer; usual tap stuff with three handpulls - the London Pride had gone, but there was Doombar and Hardy & Hanson's Rocking Rudolf, which was fine. A fairly run-of-the-mill pub - happy enough to have popped in.
