Requested be closed with reason - Other: Ex Holden's pub closed and lower windows boarded up. Some upper windows smashed. Very sad.

A detached cream rendered former Holdens pub with black paintwork and end stones. It has a patio area at the back and has just re-opened after refurbishment.
The interior has a couple of rooms. A small side room looked unfinished and out of bounds. The main room is an open-plan L-shaped room. The bar area is around the serving area. It is in white wall and ceiling, with some exposed brick and wood panelling, with a chessboard black and white, as well as red floor tiles. There is a brick fireplace with an old stove burner in and a dart board on the wall. As the long room progresses there is a white and beige walled area with a pool table in and a TV mounted on the wall – this had a music channel on rather loudly. The far area is a lounge and is in red and white with a carpet floor. There are high backed chairs of different colours and there are sky lights in the ceiling. The service was fine – the new gaffer being very friendly and the clientele locals it seemed – it was quite busy.
Beer; all the usual tap stuff with a Banks’s MILD smooth. There are four ornate handpulls, though no real ale was on – there was a badge on one, but it was turned around so I couldn’t see what it was – there may be plans to have a least one on.
A friendly and tidy enough place after its refurbishment, which just lacks a real ale for my personal taste
