Nick Davies left this review about The Friendly Inn
Friendly by name and friendly by nature. Frankton is a bit of a backwater, hidden away down minor roads, and its pub remains resolutely traditional. It tends to look closed due to main entrance being from the car park leading to the public bar. Another room more set up for eating the pub-grub menu faces the street. Traditional pub furniture, spread out for Covid reasons, and any number of knickknacks decorate the central bar. No pastel paint job or posing tables here.
It's in the GBG, though the choice of GKIPA or Jennings Cumberland may disappoint. The latter was on good form if a little cold to my taste.
Well worth a visit, but check hours away from weekends before making an expedtion.
