Another decent pub which seems to attract diners. Doom Bar and a good Butty Bach on when I called in.

A 16th Century Coaching House, attracting more diners than drinkers. The front open plan room which ran along the front of the pub was average and served a purpose. The pub was refurbished about a year ago and it looks as though at some point there were separate rooms. The most interesting feature here was the high vaulted timber frame ceiling above a dining area, which was original.
Four handpumps, with two in use, serving Sharp's Doom Bar and a Wadworth Henrys IPA. My IPA was in good shape.

The Bear Hotel looks really nice from the outside.
Once inside the pub is a bit of a dissapointment, there is a large T shaped room with the bar on the left side, this side of the room was bare boarded, there were tall tables and stools near the bar,the right side looked more comfortable,it was carpeted and had leather settees, there is also a small dining room up a few steps to the rear left, there is a large corridor which faces the entrance, this area had seating in it.
There was only one real ale on the bar which was Hobsons Best, this was a decent drink.
The pub was quite busy mid Saturday afternoon with a good mix of customers.
