A large, long, low-ceilinged, traditional-looking pub, seemingly made from two houses being knocked into one. Once inside it has been opened out into one large space, with a games room to the rear. I got the impression the pub normally does food but an A-board with mention of it had been brought in off the street. Whether this was because it was very quiet, or it was very quiet because there was no food, I was unable to determine. Certainly I was the only customer at 2pm on a Friday, and the lass behind the bar was bored out of her skull, despite the radio pumping out inane pop music. There were three hand pumps on the bar, with Abbot, Pedigree and Bass. I went for the latter, but not really expecting much in the way of a decent drink. It poured very frothy but on tasting there was a flavour of bananas detectable, which would suggest that the beer was past its best. I didn't complain, as I had no reason to think the other beers would be any better. Maybe the pub is livelier and the beer in better nick at other times of the day, or of the week, but it shouldn't be too difficult to get your beers ready for the weekend, should it.

Quite a large room which was serving food during my visit. Another local's pub with two TVs facing each other. Pedigree on offer - again.
