This is a Marstons house run on a retail agreement. It is a locals pub but is also surprisingly friendly if you are a stranger. Staff are nice enough and the beer is not bad either. Had Banks's and Pedigree real ales on the bar when I visited (busy Friday night) although there was a pump with no badge so I guess they have a guest from time to time. I stuck with the Banks's and it was a decent pint. Apparently, this pub won a CAMRA pub of the month award recently. The pub consists of a single open plan room which is not huge but big enough to seat 40 or 50. There is a Bar Skittles table and a dart board but no room for a pool table. Looks like Crib and Dominoes probably get played here also. There is a rubbish "Juice" video fruit machine (as normal it was out of order), a Quiz machine, a digital Jukebox and a couple of TV's showing Sky Sports for added Entertainment. On the whole worth a visit if you are in the area. There is a Smoking area outside to the rear.
