The Wollaston is part of a small chain of pubs called Mole face that operate smart gastro led establishments. Now usually that sends shudders down my spine but thankfully they have at least kept some essence of what a proper pub is about. There are two very distinct areas, the right hand dining area which takes up a significant part of the pub and has a few separate areas off it was well as tables around the bar area and the “drinking area to the left with a more relaxed less formal vibe but somewhere that I think food can still be ordered from. This is obviously an eating pub but the food does get very good recommendations and has won awards in one of its other outlets for its Sunday dinners. The drinking room is quite open plan and hard floored but the décor is rather nice and in a traditional style but has a modern twist. This is probably most high end of all the pubs in Wollaton (a high end area) and attracts the more affluent types. Because of the area it’s in and its customers it is surprisingly rather more expensive than the Nottingham average but not on a horrific scale and £7.77 lunch specials were offered the last time I checked. Beer wise there are four hand pulls that always dispense landlord, Harvest Pale and Black sheep bitter and this was the case for a long time but more recently they have begun to introduce a rotating guest beer as well which is good to see. I forgot what the guest beer was but it was a dark bitter that my friend said was in good nick. I had a pint of landlord which was nicely kept but a bit steep at £3.65. I quite like this place and call inn when I fancy a more sophisticated pint when in the area. Not the sort of place you could stay for an extended period as it is a bit tame but a couple in here is always pleasant. Worth a visit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wollaton
Large, modernised, food-led pub with some attractive outdoor seating on one side. Partly opened-out inside to leave four main seating / dining areas around the central bar. Comfortable furniture and (thankfully) restrained decor. Black Sheep, Landlord, Castle Rock Harvest Pale and Wickwar Bob (£3.20) available from the five handpumps. Unusual feature: homemade bread for sale.

This pub has had a few name changes over the years,when i first went in it it was called the Greenhouse and it was a Shipstones tied house with a very nice drink of Shipstones bitter on the bar.
The Wolloton is a fairly large pub that has been opened out inside but still retains lots of different drinking areas,once inside the bar faces and this is quite a long bar that is is dog legged in shape,the right side of the pub is slightly raised and this area is set aside for diners,the left side is for drinkers,this area has lots of different types of seating and is bare boarded.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale which was a nice drink the other beers were Taylor Landlord and Black Sheep bitter.
The pub was quite busy with a mixed bunch of upmarket drinkers in.
I thought this was a decent enough pub to have a few drinks in.
