The Lion Revived is located just off the market place near the main road and subway crossing. This pub used to have Greene king Branding as it was once a Kimberly that came under the ownership of Greene King after the takeover and the subsequently sold to now remain as a free house so it’s nice to see it was kept on as a pub and not turned into something else. You enter into the main bar area with a separate lounge up a few steps on a different level with a smaller bar on the right. There is a pool and darts table in the middle of the main bar. The decor is very dated and is all worn carpets and peeling whitewashed walls with old pictures that look relatively unchanged since the 70’s. Like most of the pubs this was not very busy and only had a few playing pool and half a dosen drinking at the bar or up in a corner in the lounge. Also like the rest of Bullwell the beer selection was dire and had the usual; keg range with the bitter choice between Tetleys and John Smiths. I asked for Tetley’s and all that came out of the tap was water and the completely incompetent barman had no clue as to what was going on so I settled for a pint of John Smiths for £2.35 which was cold and crap like John Smiths always is. We sat in the corner and drank our drinks before making a swift exit never to return again. It has more of a classic pub feel to it than the Moon and Stars but an equally crap drinks choice and feel and for this reason is best avoided. I wouldn’t bother with it if I was you.

The Lion Revived is situated behind the shops in the middle of bulwell.
The pub looks like a square box from the outside but once inside this pub is very smart and it had a cosy feel to it with comfortable seating and it was carpeted.
This pub used to be a Kimberley tied house and there were two real ales on the bar the Kimberley bitter was a decent drink the other beer was Kimberley mild.
I quite liked this pub.
I think this pub is still open but it is now a GK house unless they have sold it off.
