The Waldorf has a bar on the rear wall that supports a premium and craft keg range alongside five handpumps. Four of these were drawing mainstream ales and the fifth was badged with Green Duck Brewery’s Hysteria, that was ‘coming soon’. Food is available, the burger is priced under £10.
In the middle of the pub is a supporting column with a beer shelf all around and tables are found throughout the open plan bar. There is a raised seating area to the side of the entrance and televisions are found throughout for watching live sport. Everyone was watching the match in progress during my recent midweek evening visit, but the sound was muted in favour of some background music. I found the service to be polite and I thought that this was one of the better pubs in the area.

Last time I was here it was a traditional old side street pub. It has now been booted firmly into the 21st century with modern furnishings and décor. This has certainly succeeded in doubling the size of the clientele (and probably halving their average age) but at considerable cost to its character. You can however still get a decent pint, with draught ale including Robinson's Trooper, Black Sheep Cold Turkey as well as Doom Bar and something else I cannot read in my notes! There is a separate food counter and a function room is signed upstairs.

Malden man left this review about The Waldorf

A single room with a three sided bar effectively turning the room into a U shape, all manner of seating, boarded flooring apart from a slightly raised section which was carpeted and had an exposed brick fireplace containing a stove. Décor had a few framed bits of interest, a high shelf with a few jars, some tatty old books and a suitcase. There were a few whisky boxes above the fireplace. The far side of the room had a bit of equipment seemingly set up for a live gig but no sign of anybody and no posters up, very quiet indeed on a Wednesday evening with three or four grumpy punters on stools at the bar.
Landlord, some wheat beer from Howard Town Brewery plus something called "Bees Knees" written on a blank pump clip. It's possibly a good pub with a few in and a bit of atmosphere but it was as flat as anything this time and I found it all rather underwhelming.
