First time back in post pandemic and also not on a match day, to find that the Bricklayers has been spruced up in the last year or so. The plethora of scarves and flags have been removed and put in the outside courtyard section, and the décor has been given a makeover with light battleship grey being extensively used on the walls.
There is still plenty of footballing memorabilia on the walls and especially the elevated section opposite the bar, in the form of framed historic photos throughout the years, and the net result is a much smarter pub, especially on non-match days, when the clientele couldn’t give a monkeys about football.
Sadly the drinks offerings have not been improved in the meantime and its still fizz only with Beavertown Neck Oil being the most exciting thing available.

Just up from whl the pub retains it’s tiled exterior. Interior festooned in fitba scarfs, flags and memorabilia. Standard draught selection.

Roger Button left this review about The Bricklayer

On a normal day, the Bricklayer’s appears to be a fairly spacious high street pub notable for its football memorabilia in keeping with its proximity to White Hart Lane football ground. On match days however, the beast is unleashed and it turns into a whirlpool of Spurs fans crammed nose to nose, chanting, singing and generally being raucous in the nicest possible way. You will often not see your feet during the term of your visit and the bar (if you get that far) is guaranteed to be dripping with spilt beer. The bar frame has a large gap that opens like the parting of the waves and upon arrival you will find that you are up against 200 people all wanting to be served at the same time. Best of luck! Of course you could just go in and soak up the atmosphere.

The interior contains a vast collection of football shirts, scarves, pictures, flags, posters etc and it’s not all Spurs – Chesterfield, AFC Wimbledon, Blackpool and Scunthorpe are just some of the interlopers that have their colours flying high on the ceiling. Next to the main door is an original White Hart Lane turnstile rescued from one of the demolished stands and if you are really lucky you can sit in some of the old numbered wooden seats. Naturally, in such a sports orientated pub, there are the usual screens with Sky Sports but don’t expect to hear any commentary above the singalongs. If things are a bit too heaving, some respite can be found in the surprisingly pleasant walled garden to the rear that also has its own mini-bar.

Like most of the pubs around the immediate ground area, there are no Real Ales and just the standard selection of lagers and kegs but it isn't a place that you come to for beers although a token ale or two wouldn't go amiss. Prices are pretty reasonable with Fosters at £3 a pint on my latest visit.

If after all the anti-Arsenal songs and Chas N Dave medleys you are still unsure of where you are, there is a signpost on the way out directing you to White Hart Lane. Just follow the crowds.
