A welcome return to this attractive pub after a good number of years gap. As described by others below it has a good traditional feel albeit quite dark inside. Ten hand pulls in all that on my visit were offering Redemption Trinity, Southwark Lemon Drop, W&E Knight Of The Garter, London Pride and something from Small Beer. A must visit in Greenwich.

Dating from the mid-19th century, this is a fabulous backstreet pub, with recently uncovered green glazed tiling, the Nag’s Head name seemingly remaindered from its use in Only Fools and Horses.
It’s very well described below, atmospheric, lots of knickknacks, breweriana and a raised area for a band (with dartboard), which struck up at 9.00pm on my Saturday visit. Customers are a mixed bunch, some very local, many genteel and undoubtedly some students, the place packed out, with many eating and all making for a great atmosphere.
There were around eight pumps, most clipped (one with Pride) but others I couldn’t read due to the sheer number of bar blockers, me espying Twickenham’s Summer Ale (£2.80 a half), in great nick served by an absolutely charming smiley landlady.
More pumps could have been clipped and the Pride could have been ditched, but otherwise this is a must-visit boozer; Lovely Jubbly!

A beautiful exterior (the green tiling is either new or has been unveiled underneath a load of old paint, judging by some of the older photos on the site) and a striking wedge-shaped building. Tick shaped interior with a very traditional lived-in feel; dark wood vanishing, curtains, wood fittings, brewery mirrors, sodium style lighting. Famous for its live music and there was a band on the go during my visit generating a hot and sweaty atmosphere within the pub, which was close to capacity. A genuine Pearly Queen was also in attendance. Six ales on the go which raised my eyebrow and unfortunately my Kent Cob Nut had a slight cardboard aspirator taste (NBSS 2). Shame the beer let it down, I would be happy to give it another go as there were many other positives. 6.5
