Soup Dragon left this review about Ye Olde Burgh Inn

This is a lovely pub that is in undressed brick, with a patio area. There are entrances on two sides and the main feautes are a couple of bay windows and the rounded sash windows at the front - simple, but nice.

The interior has several rooms. I entered by the side door and passed by two closed and dark restaurant rooms that were in white, obviously with dining tables and chairs. It was late visit, so the food had finished, so i can't comment on that. There is then a lounge. This is a narrow and straight room in white walls and ceiling, with a patterned carpet. There is a brick fireplace and lots of old photos on the walls. There is red perimeter seating and chairs at the tables. It is served by a brick bar, that also serves the bar room which is the next room and on two levels - but i didn't really see this. The service was great and the clientele consisted of locals. I didn't see a TV and the music was general and at a decent level.

Beer: usual tap stuff with Hardy & Hanson's MILD, which was fine. One handpull with Batemans' XB, which was decent.

This was a really friendly place, the gaffer and the locals were chatting away to me in minutes. I would definitely return to this place - would love to see another, or more exciting real ale on, but hey, happy enough.
