a touristy refurbed village inn with the dreaded pubco epithet of ‘pub - kitchen - rooms’ on a trendy painted blue exterior. What a shabby treatment of such an old pub. Inside is a dowdy bar side for the locals and modernised lounge/restaurant. There’s also a big garden that you can’t miss. Four real ales from Marstons and their offshoot breweries. Service was fine and custom dominated by people eating or rehydrating after a walk.

Party of 15 May 2014 Pre-Booked & Pre-ordered. Got a nice table in the conservatory but the door to the outdoor seating area was also here and many people were back and to leaving the door open and so the guy on the end was forever getting up and down to close. Drinks were reasonably priced and there seemed to be alot of choice. Did see a sign this was part of the Marsdens chain but didn't really get that impression inside.
Food arrived hot and well presented and the portions were plentiful. Prices were on the steep side though but most people enjoyed their meal with only a few grumbles. poorest meal by far was the gammon steak which despite being 10oz was thin and crispy. Some chips were a little overdone as well but the chicken got a thums up from everybody who had a variety of it. Fish and chips was also popular but again could be classed as pricy. Deserts were also well made and presented but at £4.95 each they too were on the expensive side.
We all enjoyed our evening here and would probably book again if we were back in the area.
