The Bell Inn is a decent looking back street corner pub that is just up from the Carpenters Arms.
Once inside there is a L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is bare boarded, the seating is a long pew seat to the front left, plus smaller pew seats and a few small tables and chairs, there is a smaller bar room to the rear right which has a pool table and darts board in it.
There were no real ales on the bar,the keg bitter was John Smiths smooth crap, but there was keg Guinness Dublin Porter on which i tried, this was a decent drink.
The pub was fairly busy and there was some decent background music playing.
This is a pleasant enough pub, just a shame there are no real ales on the bar.

A Victorian backstreet locals' pub dating from the 1880s, with a single J-shaped bar, wooden floors, fairly new furniture and stained glass windows. It sits on the corner of a terrace and is very much part of local life. It has a decent sized garden though this is quite unkempt. There is a smell of stale smoke drifting in, but this isn't the pub's fault. It's friendly and is an important part of the local community but it has no real ale so I think I will leave it to the regulars.

I made an evening visit to the Bell Inn a couple of weeks ago and found a lively pub populated by locals who were avidly watching Monday night football via Sky Sports. The interior is made up by a central bar that serves two separate sides of the pub which still retain an open plan feel. There is a plasma screen in each bar and at the rear is a pool table. There is a jukebox on the wall that was switched off for the footie.
There is no real ale here, only standard draught products.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink here again, but I would certainly use this pub if I lived locally because the service was friendly and the regulars seemed harmless enough.
