Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Hop & Rye

Just far enough out of the town centre to feel more like a suburban pub, this Stonegate house has been partially opened out to leave a small bar by the feature entrance and the larger rectangular main bar along the side. Anonymous semi-modern furniture and decor (including some local history photographs), but all somewhat dominated by a number of sports TVs. Various food offers from a standard menu. Doom Bar and Hobgoblin (£3.60) available from two of three handpumps.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Hop & Rye

The Hop and Rye is a short walk up london road from the town centre, the pub looks like a 50s or 60s built estate pub.
The main entrance is off farwig lane, once inside the bar faces, the room is oblong shaped and carpeted throughout, there is a pool to the rear left and a small raised area to the front left, there are tall tables and chairs near the bar and normal tables and chairs elsewhere, there is a darts board to the right and a large drop down screen to the mid right, there were two other TVs showing sports.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Taylor Landlord which went down well, the other beers were Hobgoblin and GK IPA.
Decent background music was playing.
This is a very smart and comfortable pub to have a drink in.
