Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Star Inn

Very upmarket dining pub / restaurant in the picturesque High Street, although I was made welcome when just calling in for a drink. The entrance actually leads directly into the main dining area, with the smaller bar being located up a couple of steps. A residents lounge and a another dining room for events can be found further back, with all parts having a smart, traditional look. Two local Harvey's beers on handpump: the inevitable Sussex plus the Old Ale (excellent, although so it should be at (£6.60!). The brewery's crafty Black Stout was also available on the keg taps, along with several others including Birra Murano.

Steve C left this review about The Star Inn

The Star Inn is a very sedate pub that feels more like a hotel bar, which in fact it is. The small bar area is located up a couple of steps to the right of the entrance and is dimly lit with an open fire and plasma screen that was showing muted daytime TV with subtitles. The bar is stocked with a very limited selection of standard draught products and one of the hand pumps was unused leaving Beachy Head original available from the other. I found the barman to be very cold with a corporate attitude which was a shame. The main seating of this pub is immediately in front of the entrance and is made up of conventional tables that are split halfway up the large room by a single step. There are another couple of open fires and all of the tables had a menu on them full of traditional pub food that comes in at around £8 for a main. Unlike that bar area there are no TVs in here, but there was some classical music playing very softly in the background. Up towards the back of the pub there is another room and the hotel check in is at the very rear.

The wife and I walked away from here after planning to return next month with the mother in-law for an afternoon tea and scone for her birthday, I think that says enough about this place.
