Unfortunately this one wasn’t open when I strolled down the High Street of Hastings Old Town and Whatpub has it as long term closed.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Duke Of Wellington

Quite a basic twin-bar pub with a pool room at the back, and feeling like more of a local than most other Old Town hostelries. On a very busy bank holiday Monday, just Long Man Best (£3.90) available from the various handpumps on the two counters.

The landlady in this pub was very pleasant during my visit, but she has to be the oldest person that has ever served me a drink. There were two other customers in their twilight years which made me wonder why R&B and House tunes were piping out of the speakers.

The pub is split into two with the smaller front bar feeling like a living room and the back bar more like a social club with its pool table and dartboard. There are some very good paintings on the walls of both bars. The toilets are to the rear of the pub and the gents had no soap or hand drying facilities.

The Pride was good and they also had Harvey's Best available alongside some standard lagers and San Miguel.

I doubt that I'd ever venture in here again as the local competition is much better.
