Painted dark grey on the outside, but as with the best of us, the true beauty lies within. The interior of the Joker is certainly an eyeful, with exotic plants and decorations occupying every space. Unfortunately they were "awaiting a delivery" of cask beer so I made do with a craft grapefruit juice and soda water, branded as Brixton Reliance Pale Ale 4.2%. My own fault, I could have had a Leffe or any one of another 10 keg beers (see photos). Top marks for trying but I think I'll swerve this one next time I come to Brighton.

Circus Circus is a modern U shaped bar that was quiet except for a handful of people that were sitting around the bar on Tuesday night. Seating stretches down the right hand side of the bar and there is more seating to the left, but I think that this area is more for diners that have ordered the Thai food. Staropramen and Peroni are both available alongside a standard draught range and there is a hand pump that was drawing Brakspear Bitter. There is also a cocktail menu and the bar is available for hire. The two plasma screens were off and I spotted no sports advertised, but some music was playing in the background.
The barman was friendly, but I prefer a pub so I doubt I will ever return.
