Old town pub which seems to extend back a long way through a long series of rooms. A little bit too modernised to retain much atmosphere and very much aimed at the food trade (claimed home made pies but not sampled). Beers from the Wadsworth range - no complaints with quality. Outdoor courtyard area at rear.

Called in just after lunchtime for a swift pint while Mrs Os was shopping. Of the four ale pumps, one wasn't being used, the Bishop's Tipple and Henry's IPA had just finished so I was left with a pint of 6X - which was spot-on. The normal friendly service in this 'proper' pub, nice and quiet for a read of the papers this afternoon but it will undoubtedly liven up tonight. Always included in our regular 'tours' of Sherborne, usually on a Friday night when the place is usually packed and rockin' to a local band. Above average.

I L left this review about Plume Of Feathers
A really nice old exterior but the interior has been ruined with all the woodwork being painted Khaki green making the place look much more modern. On our visit the music was on fairly loud and the young bar staff were getting bored by the little custom for a Friday night. Four Wadsworths beers appeared to be on th hand pump but we were told only the Henrys IPA and 6 X were available. The toilets seemed to have suffered a lot of abuse with lthe ceiling light half hanging off etc.
