About
After eight memorable 'Curated by' dates with Bradley Zero and Avalon Emerson this year, in 2018 we hand the reins to Shanti Celeste and Mr Bongo, who'll be curating four and two events respectively.
Shanti's 'Curated by' series will see us blur the boundaries between techno, house, reggae, soul and disco, creating a welcoming rave environment for all. Named 'Peach Party', the four parties will see her take inspiration from her very own 'Peach Discs' label, inviting artists, friends and Brighton selectors to curate the sound and vibe on each date. From tweaks to the lighting to collaborating with local creatives, record shop in-store sessions to DJ/production workshops, we'll be taking the series in and out of the club context on each occasion.
After a memorable launch to the residency with Hodge, Ciel and Mehtola, for her second date she invites Call Super, Peach & Momo.
Call Super is the primary moniker of Joseph Richmond Seaton, a DJ and musician from London who has, over the last two years, quietly carved out his own place in the landscape of electronic music. Defined by a meticulous approach to the composition, production, art direction and presentation of his work, every release encapsulates Joseph's idiosyncratic vision. It is a colourful world that gives life to the shadows and throws a mist over the boundaries that have become so commonplace in electronic music.
Making a Patterns debut we have Peach, hailing from Toronto, Serena is most frequently found on the internet radio waves and playing with your favourite DJs. Having recently concluded her regular show 'Snacktime' on Radar Radio which has hosted the likes of Person of Interest, CCL and Bwana. Peach has moved onto a monthly slot at NTS showcasing her sublime selection of electronic music, has a forthcoming release on Midland's new label Intergraded and has recently played alongside the likes of Jackmaster, Jon Hopkins, Pangaea and the Discwoman crew.
To round off the line-up we invite up and coming local selector, Discojuice resident and Electrogirls member, Momo.
