About
London-based singer-songwriter Marcus Pike creates a unique style of downbeat melodic indie-folk / indie-pop crossover with guitars, pianos and the odd electro beat, for lovers of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The xx, Bon Iver and Everything Everything.
Having released his debut solo EP, Grand Piano EP in February 2017, his forthcoming single, Ark, was released on October 13th 2017.
Marcus has been weaving his trail of dark romantic indie pop around London for the last couple of years, playing over 150 UK shows at London venues such as the Troubadour, the Dublin Castle and the Hope & Anchor in 2016-17.
Repeatedly praised for his haunting vocals and dynamic instrumental playing, Marcus is renowned for his captivating live shows using FX-driven electric and acoustic guitars and pianos, shifting seamlessly from delicate single note lines and acoustic strumming, to full-on ear-splitting guitars.
Marcus employs a stream-of-consciousness songwriting and performance style, and believes in the power of melody - his songs are notable for their catchy hooks, but also their experimental production and arrangement.
