“One of the most exciting bands of 2016” Lauren Laverne BBC 6 Music
“fast, urgent, plangent, with murmuring vocals and a hazy shade of wintry melancholia” The …Guardian
“one of the must-hear albums of this summer” The Line of Best Fit
PALACE WINTER are Copenhagen-based Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer and classically trained pianist Caspar Hesselager.
Since their debut single release in early 2015, the band have discovered an enthusiastic audience for their music. An EP ‘Medication’ was released on Danish indie Tambourhinoceros later in that year, with debut album ‘Waiting For The World To Turn’ following in summer 2016. As their music spreads and word-of-mouth continues to build they enjoy considerable and growing support, with the likes of The Guardian, NME, The Line Of Best Fit and Gaffa already jumping on board alongside BBC 6 Music, where they’ve previously been play-listed for 5 weeks.
As a live band Palace Winter feed off the energy of the audience when they bring their self proclaimed atmospheric krautrock to the stage. It can often be a hypnotic experience with the band’s wall of sound from the guitars and synth creating an intense vibe throughout the show.
Since their first ever show in March 2015 their subsequent 60+ shows have included supporting Noel Gallagher, playing Guy Garvey’s Meltdown and hitting European festivals including Roskilde, Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Citadel, Green Man, Sziget, Reeperbahn, By:larm, The Great Escape and Dot To Dot. Most recently they played to an ecstatic crowd at their sold-out Hoxton Bar and Kitchen show in London.
