About
A very special concert curated and performed members of the Bath Youth Folk Band, bringing innovation to the table and keeping traditions very much alive. Flies Fly Away (AKA Louis Campbell) first came to the attention of the Bath Folk Festival organisers when he turned up to our summer school aged 11 and wowed everyone with his incredible skill, imagination and maturity in his guitar playing and singing. His roots are in folk music but also experimental post rock music. He brings this together and is joined by The Big Massive Orchestra who add strings and drums to an experimental mix of tunes and songs with strong usage of ambient textures. This is a great young is act taking folk in new directions. Bertie Wright has been playing in the sessions in around Bath pretty much all of his life and his dedication and focus to the Melodeon is nothing less than astonishing. He has composed numerous tunes and performs from various traditions but is chiefly rooted in English folk idioms with rich harmonic textures
