We first saw Ranagri perform at a festival in the West Country three years ago, and - since then - have been very keen to book them for the Cruck Barn! They are a truly inspirational act!

Ranagri is a contemporary folk band of four musicians (Dónal Rogers, Jean Kelly, Eliza Marshall, Joe Danks)
who have come together to create some exciting new music. Consisting of flutes; Irish whistles; electric
harp; bodhran; guitar; bouzouki and voices, Ranagri fuse celtic folk music with quality contemporary songwriting,
enhanced by virtuosic instrumentals, vibrant rhythms and haunting melodies, all interlaced with vivid storytelling.
Nestled between the Wicklow Mountains and Co Carlow, Ireland, lies an area of farmland; a place of untouched
natural beauty, of peace and contemplation. This idyll is called Rathnagrew (pronounced Ran-ag-rye!). It's where
Dónal's family come from and still live today.
Ranagri were delighted to secure a record contract with Grammy Award Winning Record Label 'Stockfisch' in
2014 where they recorded the highly acclaimed SACD hybrid album 'Fort of the Hare'.
They have also published a book 'Song Folk Art' through Robinswood Press with an
accompanying Traditional Folk Album recorded throughout 2014.
Ranagri had a busy 2015/16 with performances at Cambridge, Gate to Southwell, Wath, Stourbridge
and Purbeck Folk Festivals, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Folk on the Quay and combining their love for
world music they have collaborated with top Indian Musicians at The Bhavan Centre,
London – the largest Indian Music Cultural Centre outside of India which has hosted the likes of Ravi Shankar and
George Harrison. 2016 will see them release a new album and a British tour planned for September onwards.
Ranagri have recently released an album with International star Tony Christie of an Irish Folk-Song album, tracing a
shared Irish heritage.
