Title: Reading - a Friday afternoon
Creator: Clive Thompson

Description:
This crawl took place on the afternoon of Friday 16th April with a few mates.

Started at the Three Guineas at mid day with just three of us. Decent selection of beers but none of us thought the quality was particularly good so we moved on after one. Leeds Eager Owl for me.

We were in the middle of a JDW festival and I ticked off the Otter Mild and the Allgates Brigantia, which was so good I had a second. We gained another couple of crawlers here and three of us checked into the Travelodge around 3pm.

Next onto the Nags Head, a first visit for one of our part and he was suitably impressed. I had the Butts Barbus Barbus then an Entire Stout from Hop Back. A cheese & tomato roll provided some sustenance and we picked up our sixth crawler.

A long walk now to the Hobgoblin just after 5pm during which we came back down to five as one left for home. Nice pint of Dr Hexter’s Healer in here following which we lost another crawler as we moved on.

Our second JDW of the day and despite there being beers on stillage they mirrored those on the pumps rather than being in addition to. Had a Brewdog Trashy Blond which is becoming one of my festival favourites.

On to the Retreat which was one I wanted to revisit. Can’t remember the beer but the pool table has disappeared and the juke box is still just as good.

Just three of us left now and we called into Copa, one of Greene King’s pub/bars, for an Olde Trip.

Next was the inevitable curry accompanied by an inevitable Kingfisher.

The intention was to have a last one or two at the Nags Head bt although only 10pm we’d all had enough, must be getting old.
