Title: Roydon in Essex, on the River Stort
Creator: Steve of N21

Description:
During a period of rampant pub closures it is quite a surprise that this small Essex village retains three pubs along its small high street and has only seen the closure of the former White Horse into an Indian restaurant in recent times. This fact is probably in no small part due to its closeness to the large metropolis of Harlow and all the dire offerings that this new town has to offer. The McMullens family pub The Crusader certainly benefits from the food seeking crowd, but for a beer in a traditional pub setting then the White Hart and New Inn are the better bets, although the choice will be the usual ubiquitous area offerings instead of anything inspiring. I have also included the new Hendersons Bar and Grill that services the growing holiday and waterways centre that is Roydon marina, but would only recommend this if you have been walking the River Stort and desperate for some sustenance and cannot walk the extra mile into Roydon High Street.

Hendersons Bar and Grill (1)
More a club house for the Roydon Marina but does have Keg beers
The New Inn (2)
Probably the bext pub in Roydon for beer choice but hopefully better for you when you visit
Crusader (3)
Mac's pub with usual McMullens range
The White Hart (4)
Very nice traditional coaching in but unfortunately under the Greedy King banner
