Everards Beer Hall, Enderby, Leicester

Big modern beer hall/restaurant in the European style with a glut of outdoor seating, described accurately at length below. Irritating queuing that was at least dismissed by the better-trained staff and I took full advantage. Talking of staff, the struggling bar peeps should have called over the four of their compatriots who were loafing by the restaurant section, in order to alleviate the slow service. Plenty of Everards cask on with the stagers joined by several limited edition brews (apparently some of these are only available here) – mine weighed-in schizophrenically (NBSS 2.5 and 3.5). It's GBG and a tick is a tick but I can’t see me schlepping out here on an Uber again specifically without good reason.

A beer hall at Everards new and expensive brewery. It’s a large glass and steel building with drinking and dining along the length of the front wall with a long counter between there and the rear brewing area. Twelve hand pumps dispense the four core Everards beers plus three or four small batch brews and there are three horseshoes with national or local kegs. Although a bit thin the Tiger I had was in excellent condition as you would expect of a brewery tap. Flights of three beers seemed popular, especially as the finale to the brewery tour (£20). There were also families having lunch perhaps before or after shopping at the nearby Fosse Park retail park. Tall tables through the centre with low tables to the side and at the far end, including a some in what look like upended brewing vessels. Obviously being a working brewery there’s an industrial vibe to the décor. The largely automated stainless steel brewery is visible behind and above the servery, the small batch brewery within is not. Card payment only.
