I'm a bit mixed on this place. I quite like the sanctuary of a beer place in a market and it works well at the Micro Bar in Manchester and the Real Ale Shack in Warrington. This place feels a bit more closed in, though is spacious enough, but I think the real downside for me is the lack of real ale. That is in part compensated for by the six keg taps, one of which was off at the time of my visit (according to the menu board anyway) and there are two ciders listed in addition. They also do gin, wine etc. As has been noted in the previous review there are loads of bottles and cans for sale, for drinking in or taking away. I had a vanilla stout on keg which was perfectly fine. There were a couple of bottles I fancied to take away but the prices on them were £6 and £7.50 which seemed rather expensive, though I haven't bought those particular two beers before so not sure what the going rate is, but that seemed a bit on the high side unless it was the drink-in price and there is a discount for takeaway (I didn't ask). I'd give the place a 6.5 but because I'm a nice guy I'm rounding up to 7. The introduction of cask ale would probably make it a solid 7 for me, though understand there may be issues keeping it cellar cool without a cellar, or there may not be sufficient demand/turnover.

basically a bottle shop in Chester market with a few benches for drinking. They do, however, allow you to buy a beer to drink with your meal at one of the other stalls. Good range of beer available but this isn’t ShopsGalore so it’s a 5/10 at best.
