Beer Street, Newcastle Central, Newcastle Upon Tyne

With the nearby Delta Lounge & Split Chimp both having closed, Beer Street is now the only remaining bar in the railway arches for Newcastle's Central Station. This is a friendly place with a small space at street level and an equally small additional space upstairs where the toilets can also be found. There are 3 cask ales, which on our Tuesday evening visit, were Dancing Duck 'Ay Up, Great North Eastern North Sea Bitter & Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted. Ciders were Weston's Family Vintage & SeaCider Blackberry & Apple Cider. Craft beers listed were Verdant Sundialer, Wylan Jakehead, Arbor Jabba The Nutt & Vault City Iron Brew Sour.

A typical railway arch micro with an upstairs area. 5 changing guest ales plus 2 ciders. We called in on our way out on a Sunday evening when it was quiet and had a chat to the landlord. We called again on our way back to the hotel when it was much busier with the locals. I tried 3 of the beers over our 2 visits and all were in excellent nick. Very boisterous later on, but still very friendly. We'll be calling back here.
