The Camden Beer Hall, Kentish Town West, NW5

Situated off a courtyard to the side of Kentish Town West station,the bar is housed in an arch and you get the occasional rumble of the trains above.The room is quite small with high tables to the left,a fitted bench running around a section to the side of the bar and a shabby chic vibe.There is much more room outside and space heaters are used on chilly nights,while the food shack was turning out flamed burgers and hot dogs which also generated additional warmth. The young serving staff were most helpful and gave samples .I counted 15 keg taps but the beer menu lists 12 Camden Brewery brews so maybe some taps are doubled up.The range is impressive with a few very high ABV options and while pint pricing starting at £4.10 up to £4.50 may be considered high , not outrageous in my book.Another plus point was that the beers were not heavily chilled and the carbonation wasn't excessive ,so the flavour of my Wit and Flue Faker (smoked ) came through straight away.Free popcorn was another nice touch.I didnt investigate up some stairs but the wall decorations are interesting ,the muzak enhancing the lively atmosphere. I liked it and would return to have a go at some very good kegged beer,my colleagues also enjoyed their burgers.Worth including on any visit to The Grafton and Tapping the Admiral.
